Another Chelsea star tells Boehly he wants to leave Stamford Bridge
Another Chelsea star, Billy Gilmour, has reportedly told the club’s chiefs, including co-owner Todd Boehly, that he wants to quit the Blues, The Evening Standard reports.
Gilmour wants to leave Chelsea this summer in search of first-team football.
The Evening Standard reports that Brighton have confirmed their desire to sign the 21-year-old midfielder on a permanent deal.
Gilmour has been with Chelsea since signing from Rangers in 2017 and has made 22 senior appearances for the Stamford Bridge club.
Following last summer’s European Championship, Gilmour’s stock was incredibly high after a man-of-the-match performance for Scotland in their 0-0 draw against England at Wembley Stadium.
Gilmour then joined newly-promoted Norwich City on a season-long loan deal.
However, his time at Norwich was unsuccessful as the Canaries were relegated to the Championship.
Gilmour currently has two years left on his current deal with Chelsea.
