As Atletico Madrid advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday evening, their supporters had an unlikely hero to thank in Renan Lodi.
In the first leg the 23-year-old was not guaranteed to start, but he turned in an excellent performance, registering the assist for Joao Felix's early strike.
Lodi followed up that display at Old Trafford. Starting as a left wing-back, he broke the deadlock with a header just before half time in what turned out to be the winner.
Renan Lodi's goal
The Brazilian had looked shaky up until that point, but that all changed as he raced up the pitch to direct Antoine Griezmann's cross beyond David de Gea.
It was Lodi's fourth goal this season in all competitions, and it was Griezmann's fourth assist on a night where the Frenchman was also outstanding for Los Rojiblancos.
Atletico Madrid are once again in the last eight of the Champions League on a night which belonged to Renan Lodi.
