David Beckham is looking forward to watching Real Madrid's Champions League last 16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain, as he believes every football fan is.

With the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga adding extra spice to the clash, many are expecting a classic European knockout fixture between two of the favourites to win the competition this season.

"If we look at the players and the history of these two teams," Beckham said in a short video published by PSG, "the passion of the fans in these two cities, this meeting is a dream for any fan."

Beckham played for both

With a past at both clubs, Beckham admitted that he'd find it hard to support just one over the other.

"I'm glad I won't be in the stadium," Beckham said. "It would have been great to see two teams that I played for playing each other.

"But, to be honest, I'd prefer to watch it at home in front of my TV. That way I can celebrate every goal, no matter who scores."

Whatever the outcome, the Englishman is expecting a close-fought and thrilling contest over two legs.

"It could be a very attacking game," Beckham went on. "Two great teams are facing each other, and they're two of the most exciting teams around at the moment.

"If you compare them, they're both leading their leagues and have great coaches and players."

Before finishing, Beckham had special praise for both Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, labelling the Argentine "one of the best players in the history of football".
