Casemiro, a recent addition to Manchester United, has made a clue about the player who would partner him in the midfield.
The Brazilian superstar singled out Fred, praising him as a "wonderful player" and a person of tremendous importance to him.
This week, Casemiro left Real Madrid for Manchester United in a transaction estimated to be worth $59.5 million.
On Monday night, the 30-year-old was introduced to the crowd before the team's 2-1 triumph over bitter rivals Liverpool.
The midfielder Fred was benched for the match against Liverpool after receiving recent criticism for the team's poor season opener.
When asked about his fellow countryman, the newly signed Premier League midfielder Casemiro said to MUTV: "Well, before coming here I spoke to Fred.
"I've played with him as a friend for a significant number of games and years with the national team. I am familiar with him.
He's a superb player, which is why he plays for Manchester United and the competitive Brazilian national team.
He is a key member of this team, and given that he is Brazilian, I believe he will be of great assistance to me.
"I believe he will be very helpful to me at the club, and it is crucial for me to have another Brazilian here as well," the player said.
