Football ball has come to stay as we have many strikers on board with different talents and skills.

Below are the top five best strikers this season in descending order.

5. Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez fired Atletico Madrid to the La Liga title

Former Barcelona star who was viewed as a striker in decline, but when he joined Atletico his performance improved, and won La Liga for the club.

There are more prolific players on this list, but Suarez is beaten everyone's imagination.

At 34 years of age, Suarez is showing no signs of being a player who has lost his touch as he continues to mesmerize with his unpredictable nature.

4. Victor Osimhen

Napoli and Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, have been declared the Serie A player for September. This is on the back of strong performances and goals for Napoli, which have propelled the former Lille striker and his team to the top of the table, with an unblemished record.

3. Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is, undisputedly, the most in-demand player in world football at the moment.

The Norwegian superstar has been simply sensational in every way and, regardless of the opposition or the competition, he has managed to find the back of the net time after time.

With that said, the 20-year-old has become of the most sought-after strikers in the world since signing for Borussia Dortmund, having taken his game to the next level.

Haaland has his whole future ahead of him and could well become of the greats if he continues to replicate his current numbers.

It's terrifying to think how good Erling Haaland will be when he's 21 years old, let alone 25 or 30.

2. Kareem Benzema

Benzema was at a time thought to be buried after the emergence and dominance of Cristiano Ronaldo as Madrid’s main star.

While Benzema continued to register great scoring tally for a striker during those years, most of the media coverage was focused on Ronaldo.

Even after the departure of the Portuguese, more than a few critics and analysts believed the Frenchman would not turn up to the responsibility.

There is a lot of improvement this season as the number one striker for Real Madrid.

1. Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski scored a staggering 41 goals in the Bundesliga this season

As players enter the latter stages of their playing days, a gradual reduction in contributions is to be expected.

But Robert Lewandowski is an individual who has bucked that trend in a rather significant manner, reaching a level that has propelled him to the top of this list.
