Chelsea trio Gilmour, Gallagher, Werner to receive summer exit offers?

The Chelsea trio of Billy Gilmour, Conor Gallagher and Timo Werner may reportedly be offered opportunities to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

With the Blues takeover having now been officially completed, the Premier League giants are able to buy, sell and negotiate new contracts with current players.

Such will be the turnover of players that head coach Thomas Tuchel will naturally have important decisions to make regarding the make-up of his first-team squad and the potential development of fringe members who may still have a future at Stamford Bridge.

According to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown, Everton are contemplating whether to make an approach for Scotland international Gilmour.

The 20-year-old spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Norwich City, failing to make much of an impact as the Canaries suffered relegation to the Championship.

rHowever, Gilmour was provided with his Chelsea debut by Frank Lampard, the former Blues boss previously talking up the ability of the diminutive midfielder before his exit from Stamford Bridge.

Gilmour's progression in the Premier League with Chelsea was also halted by a knee injury, something which may be taken into consideration when a decision is made on his future in due course.

Conor Gallagher is another player who will be returning to West London this summer, the 22-year-old having starred during his stint at Crystal Palace.

Although Tuchel is highly likely to include the England international in his first-team squad next season, the player is understandably attracting widespread interest.

talkSPORT claims that the Toffees fall into that bracket, Lampard wanting to inject some fresh energy into a midfield with several squad members potentially on their way out of Goodison Park.

Further forward, Tuchel is expected to make changes to an attack which were sometimes wasteful in front of goal this season, none of their players performing with the ruthlessness demanded by their boss.

Of all the frontmen, Romelu Lukaku appears the most likely to depart Stamford Bridge with Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all having been suggested as potential destinations over the past week.

However, according to Tuttosport, Chelsea may also receive interest from Juventus, who require a replacement for the outgoing Alvaro Morata.

While Werner endured another hit-and-miss campaign, he still contributed 11 goals, a respectable return when considering just 23 of his 36 appearances came from the starting lineup.

Like they did with Morata, Juventus may potentially look to explore a loan agreement with certain options in the future, similarly to what Chelsea may have to consider when it comes to the possible exit of Lukaku.
