In order to immediately replace Mauricio Pochettino, Paris Saint-Germain hired Christophe Galtier to serve as their next head coach. In 2021, Galtier guided Lille to the Ligue 1 championship. The following year, Galtier led Nice to the Coupe de France final and secured a fifth-place league finish for his team. Pochettino, the former manager of Tottenham, was fired after only 18 months in command.

Pochettino's dismissal was announced earlier on Tuesday after serving as manager for 18 months, and he was swiftly succeeded by Galtier, the former manager of Lille and Nice.Galtier left Nice in June, and Lucien Favre took his place. He achieved a fifth-place Ligue 1 finish and the Coupe de France final in his lone season with the team.

His most notable professional accomplishment to date was helping Lille defeat PSG and win the Ligue 1 championship in 2021.
