Fiorentina have reportedly become favourites to secure the signature of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The Gunners are said to be keen to offload the 26-year-old, who is currently on loan with the Serie A outfit, permanently at the end of the season.

According to Evening Standard, I Viola are in pole position to sign the midfielder, having been impressed by his performances in Florence this season.

With Mikel Arteta reportedly not seeing a future for the Uruguayan international at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal are set to accept a cut-price offer in the summer, with Argentinian giants Boca Juniors no longer able to complete a deal.

Since arriving at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the summer, Torreira has featured 23 times for I Viola, who currently sit seventh in the Serie A table.

Following a £25m move from Sampdoria in 2018, the Uruguayan international featured 89 times for the Gunners before being loaned out to Atletico Madrid, for whom he played a part in a La Liga triumph, last season and Fiorentina this term.
