Liberia's Willing Girls Hold Champions AS Mande In Opening WAFU A Match

In their debut game of the WAFU A TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League qualifier on Wednesday, the tenacious Girls of Liberia put up a strong performance to tie defending champions AS Mandé 1-1.
The West African Football Union (Wafu) Zone A match between the local team and the Malian club in Monrovia was averted by a goal by Fatoumata Doumbia in the 90th minute.
Seven minutes after Kantie Sayee gave Determine Girls the lead by taking advantage of a defensive blunder, the defending champions answered.
The Liberians had a chance to win the game because they came out fired up and were willing to challenge the reigning champs.
