Manchester United defender Raphael Varane was forced off injured partway through France's meeting with Spain in the UEFA Nations League final.
The incident that caused the issue looked innocuous enough with Varane simply cutting out a routine cross. However, immediately after his kicking foot touched the floor he winced in discomfort.

Varane did carry on for around a minute after, before Hugo Lloris punted the ball out so he could have treatment just before half-time. After being assessed, Varane got replaced by Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano in the 42nd minute.
Although, we will not know the prognosis until after he has done a full check-up. Losing the Frenchman for some time would be a significant blow for Man Utd as they have a tough run of fixtures coming up over the next few weeks.
They kick off with a trip to Leicester City on Saturday, before hosting Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek.

This was followed by a pair of tricky Premier League encounters against Liverpool and Tottenham in consecutive weeks.
Varane has been an ever-present in the United side since making the switch from Real Madrid in the summer and getting fit, making seven appearances in all competitions.
His go-to partner Harry Maguire is also currently nursing a knock, with the problem keeping him out of England duty during the current international break.
United will be desperate for both of their first-choice center-backs to make a full recovery before the Leicester game, as they are currently on a poor run of results. They won just one of their four games before the pause in club action, with that victory coming courtesy of a last-minute Cristiano Ronaldo strike in the Champions League against Villarreal.
Prior to that, they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham. Meanwhile, Aston Villa beat them 1-0 at Old Trafford while Everton held them to a 1-1 home draw.
