Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has, on Monday, spoken out over Kylian Mbappe’s alarming outburst on the club’s bench, during their weekend meeting with Montpellier.
After being replaced by Mauro Icardi with just minutes remaining in the clash, Kylian Mbappe was spotted looking furious on the hosts’ bench.
The French international, in turn, embarked on something of a rant against attacking partner in crime and close friend Neymar, surrounding the Brazilian’s apparent unwillingness to pass him the ball.
A host of interpretations regarding exactly what Mbappe had to say were forthcoming over the last couple of days, ranging from “when it’s me, he doesn’t give me the pass” to “I’m all alone, he doesn’t give me the pass”.
L’Equipe even went as far as to suggest that Neymar was labelled a ‘clochard’ (tramp) by his teammate.
In turn, speaking during a press conference this evening ahead of the club’s meeting with Manchester City on Tuesday, PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino was inevitably drawn on the latest on the relationship between his two attacking stars.
Poch, though, was quick to assure that the matter has already been dealt with, with Mbappe and Neymar having hashed things out post-match:
‘They are amazing boys and great competitors. They talked to each other after the game and I talked to them too. You saw that they were laughing in training on Monday. Often this kind of situation makes noise but it does not reflect reality.’
