Origi already completed all of the necessary paperwork last week, but his free move to Milan was not officially announced until today. On Tuesday, his contract was placed with the Lega Serie A, completing the transfer process.
The Diavolo's website states the following:
"Milan is excited to announce that Divock Origi has signed. The Belgian's agreement with the Club is valid until 30 June 2026.
"Origi, who was born on April 18, 1995, in Ostend, Belgium, progressed in the youth divisions of Lille and Genk before making his first-team debut for the French side in 2013. After making 89 appearances and scoring 16 goals for Lille, he transferred to Liverpool, where he made 77 appearances and scored 21 goals in his first two seasons. Then he was loaned to Wolfsburg, where he played 36 games and scored seven goals. In 2018, he joined The Reds once more, and he went on to play in 98 more games and score 20 more goals. He won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup, so there was no lack of trophy success either.
In addition to becoming the youngest goal scorer in Belgian World Cup history in Brazil, Origi made his senior international debut in 2014 and has since scored three goals in 32 games for his nation.
Thursday at 14:00 CEST will see the presentation of Origi. Although his shirt number has not yet been disclosed, it is a given the player is eyeing the #27 jersey currently adorned by the young Maldini
