After his contract with Milan expired, Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Franck Kessié as a free agent adding a release clause of €500m to his latest contract.
The Ivory Coast international turned down an extension offer from the Rossoneri last season and instead signed a deal with the Catalans that lasts until 2026.
His signing has just been officially announced by Barcelona on their social media. In August 2021, Kessié, also referred to as "The President" at Milan, made a commitment to sign a contract renewal with the Serie A powerhouses. However, in the end, he chose Barcelona.
The former Milan player's contract will feature a €500 million clause, according to the Blaugrana.
On July 6, he will be introduced to the team as a new player.
In 223 appearances while wearing a Rossoneri jersey, the 25-year-old scored 37 goals. He hasn't traveled outside of Italy since he arrived in Europe in 2015 from Stella Club (Ivory Coast).
His first club in Europe was Atalanta, but he was loaned to Cesena in Serie B.
