Marcus Rashford received an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester as a reward for his ongoing campaign against child poverty in the UK this week.
The 23-year-old is the youngest in the university’s history to be handed an honorary doctorate, which is given as a way of honouring a person’s contributions to a specific field or to society in general.
Rashford’s work for charity has earned him plaudits worldwide
But he’s not the only Manchester United hero to have received one.
Sat in the crowd, watching England forward go up on stage to collect his award alongside Rashford’s family, was the man who picked up EIGHT in the last twenty-five years – Sir Alex Ferguson.
