Serge Aurier To Join Nothingham Forest As Villarreal Contract Expires
Former Spurs defender Serge Aurier is someone STEVE COOPER wants to get into his ever-expanding Nottingham Forest team.
The 29-year-old Ivory Coast captain, who left Villarreal at the end of the previous season, is now a free agent.
Cooper is looking for defensive cover after Omar Richards, a summer acquisition from Bayern Munich, was forced to miss time with a hairline leg fracture.
The kind of seasoned all-arounder the Forest manager is looking for is Aurier, who cost Tottenham £23 million in 2017 when they acquired him from PSG. Aurier can play both left and right back.
Cooper is investigating a number of defensive possibilities, including Aurier, who has not yet had a medical exam, Wolves center-back Willy Boly, and others.
