How Arsenal could line up against Manchester United

Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of Bukayo Saka for Thursday's Premier League game with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old went off with a suspected groin problem in the weekend's win over Newcastle United, and it would be a surprise to see him take his place in the first XI this week.

However, Gabriel Martinelli justified his inclusion with a delightful volley against the Magpies, and the Brazilian starlet will hope to fend off competition from Nicolas Pepe to start on the right.

Mikel Arteta remains without Granit Xhaka until 2022, while third-choice left-back Sead Kolasinac is also out for the foreseeable future with a serious ankle problem.

Nuno Tavares held his place at left-back for the Newcastle win and, despite some wayward shooting, produced another eye-catching display, which could see Kieran Tierney once again restricted to the bench.

Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Takehiro Tomiyasu are untouchable in the Gunners' defence ahead of Aaron Ramsdale, while Albert Sambi Lokonga and Thomas Partey should continue in the middle.

Alexandre Lacazette was dropped for the Newcastle win and could find himself on the bench again if Martin Odegaard holds his place, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will aim to become the first Arsenal player ever to score in three consecutive away games versus Man United.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tavares; Partey, Lokonga; Martinelli, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang
