Two Tottenham fans who made a 31-hour trip from Dallas to watch their postponed game with Burnley have been invited to a future match by Harry Kane.
Spurs were due to play the Clarets at Turf Moor on Sunday, but the contest was called off less than an hour before kick off.
Ken and Brandy Saxton had made the journey from Dallas via Washington DC in order to get to the north west of England, though the former is not as unhappy as you'd imagine.
“You know, you’re a little disappointed but honestly I come here to hang out with my friends more than the football,” Ken told The Athletic. “Don’t get me wrong I love Tottenham and the football, but I love my people and that was maybe the hardest bit, that they have to leave now to get back to Stoke.
“But we’ll hang out here, we’ll have a good time hanging out with our friends.”
Brandy added: “I was sad because it was my first away game so that was exciting to experience but it’s great to hang out with everyone."
Later on Sunday, star striker Kane tweeted that he would love to welcome the couple to a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when they're in London.
"Just been sent this tweet and absolutely gutted for you! For your commitment and to make up for the match being called off I’d like to invite you to a home game as my guest when you’re next in London," Kane said.
