According to Gazzetta dello Sport, talks on Adrien Rabiot's pay have halted Manchester United's attempt to recruit him from Juventus.
Both parties have agreed to an initial cost of roughly £15 million, which might increase with add-ons.
Veronique Rabiot, Rabiot's mother and his agent, is currently negotiating with United to determine his personal terms.
With Juventus, the 27-year-old makes about €7 million (£5.93 million) annually, or about £113,000 per week, but he wants a wage raise in Manchester.
Due to the absence of Champions League action at Old Trafford, Rabiot reportedly had second thoughts about moving there. But after being convinced by Erik ten Hag's initiative, he now requests financial compensation for leaving Europe's top club tournament.
The French midfielder wants a three-year contract with pay of more than €10 million (£8.46 million). He also demands that his pact include a guarantee of Champions League play.
Cristiano Ronaldo makes the most money at United, taking home £500,000 every week. David de Gea, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, and Raphael Varane are all paid less than him, each earning £375,000 a week.
